Bret Michaels Speaks at California State Capitol in Support of Diabetes Education Bill

Last month, POISON singer Bret Michaels spoke at a hearing to increase type 1 diabetes education in California schools.

Michaels joined Senator Richard Roth at California State Capitol in hopes of getting a bill passed. The bill will require school districts to work with K-12 schools to better inform parents and students about diabetes. It will also require schools to utilize new methods.

In Michael’s speech, he said, “As a type 1 diabetic since the age of six, and now at the age of 56, it is so important, this Senate bill, 138, to pass this through. Education and empowerment is everything.”

The bill has now been passed. Watch the video below.
