George Thorogood Discusses 50 Years of Music With Matt Pinfield on New & Approved

George Thorogood has been on the blues-rock scene for 50 years now. The legendary blues rocker talks about his many decades in rock & roll with Matt Pinfield for this episode of New & Approved.

George first dives into his childhood and tells Matt about growing up in Delaware. Like most musicians of his day, George was heavily influenced by Elvis Presley and The Beatles as rock & roll was in its first wave. He also talks about some of the earliest concerts he ever attended, including Jimi Hendrix.

George tells Matt about his entire journey from The Destroyers’ first albums released by Rounder Records to scoring massive hits like “Bad To The Bone” and “Move It On Over.” Along with his good-time music, being both “bad” and “funny” is what makes George the iconic character he is.
