Who would’ve thought a classic Journey song needed a little country update?

Earlier this week, former Journey frontman Steve Perry released a new cover of the band’s 1983 classic Faithfully. Country legend Willie Nelson joined Perry for the 2025 take of the song and they both provide vocals throughout it. For some extra western flavor, Scott Sanders provides pedal steel guitar in lieu of Neal Schon’s electric guitar.

Apparently, this was a long-awaited goal for Perry.

“Singing this duet with Willie has been something I’ve always wanted to do,” Perry said in a statement. “After recording ‘Faithfully’ with Journey, I always felt it would be a great song for Willie, too. What a wonderful experience it was to finally sing with Willie. I’m so proud of what we have accomplished together.”
