While 1980s pop star Cyndi Lauper doesn’t seem to have anything in common to the raw, classic rockers of Bad Company, it turns out there’s a surprise connection

Both Lauper and Bad Company are now official members of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Class of 2025, and the latter indirectly helped skyrocket Lauper into fame. The singer recently told ABC about why Bad Company’s 1974 rock staple Can’t Get Enough was so significant to her.

“That was the first song I sang as the lead singer, at a place called the Boardy Barn,” Cyndi stated. The Boardy Barn was a legendary venue in New York’s Hamptons…I played in front of 5,000 people. Had a heart attack, but it didn’t matter.”

Cyndi Lauper, Bad Company, The White Stripes, Soundgarden, Chubby Checker, and OutKast will officially be inducted at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on November 8, 2025, in Los Angeles.
