Frank Beard Returning to ZZ Top For Upcoming Tour

After two months of absence, drummer Frank Beard will be returning to the stage with ZZ Top! Beard will be joining guitarist Billy Gibbons and bassist Elwood Francis, who has been on the road with the band since original bassist Dusty Hill passed away in 2021, for the band’s upcoming Elevation tour.

After speculation from fans, ZZ Top’s management finally came forward with the cause for Beard’s temporary departure. “The band’s management revealed that the foot and ankle issues that [Beard] had been dealing with have been resolved.”

Gibbons said in a statement, “We’re happy that Frank is back with Elwood and yours truly…  We missed him and are looking forward to turning it up and rocking out with him, as has been the case for the last few hundred or so decades.” Gibbons continued, “His complete recovery is cause for celebration and that’s just what we intend to do on an open-ended basis. Welcome back, pardner!”

ZZ Top will be performing with Fought at the Pacific Amphitheater at the Orange County Fair on August 30th!
