September 25th, 1980 marked one of the worst losses in rock and roll history. It was the day that Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, aka Bonzo, died from a pulmonary aspiration after consuming about 40 shots of vodka. Bonham’s tragic death also marked the end of Zeppelin’s monumental career as they felt it wouldn’t be right to continue without him.
To this day, Bonzo is still considered one of the greatest drummers of all time influencing drummers young and old. There will never be another like him.
