In 1972 the Rainbow Bar & Grill opened for business on Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood.
And in the upstairs bar, a notorious private party club was also born. Its members: Alice Cooper, John Lennon, Keith Moon, Ringo Starr and more of the biggest rock stars of the day. They were called the Hollywood Vampires, but they never recorded an album or played out live.
