Halloween Rock ‘N’ Roll Ghost Stories: John Lennon

The murder of John Lennon in 1980 was one of the most heartbreaking losses in rock ‘n’ roll history. However, according to some of his closest loved ones, he never fully left us.

John’s fellow Beatles George Harrison, Ringo Starr, and Paul McCartney once gathered together in 1995 to record Free As A Bird. The trio took went outside for a photograph when a rare white peacock suddenly joined them in the shot. Apparently, each remaining Beatle felt the spirit of John coming from the bird.

Paul McCartney even said about the incident, “I said to the other guys, ‘That’s John!’ Spooky, eh? It was like John was hanging around. We felt that all the way through the recording.” 

This wasn’t the only reported visit from Lennon after his death. John once told his son Julian, “If anything ever happens to me, look for a white feather and you will know I am there for you, always looking out for you.” Sure enough, in 2009 an Aboriginal tribe leader handed a feather of a white swan over to Julian. Woah!
