The Stars tied for the NHL lead last season with eight overtime or shootout defeats at home.Miro Heiskanen scored the game-tying goal in the third period, while the Stars also got a first-period goal from Tyler Seguin.The Kings lost star defenseman Drew Doughty to injury in the second period, while getting goals from Gabe Vilardi and Anze Kopitar.The Kings and Stars were playing each other for the first time since January 2020 and the first time at Dallas since January 2019.Los Angeles goalie Jonathan Quick made 20 saves, while Stars goalie Braden Holtby made 43 saves, as the Kings had a 45-22 advantage in shots on goal.Kopitar gave the Kings a 1-0 lead at 17:11 of the first period when he redirected a cross-ice pass from Viktor Arvidsson into a wide-open net. It was Kopitar’s sixth goal of the season, with a score in all four games.
