Eagles “Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975)” Becomes First Album To Reach Quadruple Diamond Certification [VIDEO]

The Eagles have broken another record once again.  The legendary band’s 1976 compilation album Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975)  has now become the first record to reach quadruple diamond certification from the RIAA as their U.S. sales have reached 40 million.

Released on February 17th, 1976 the album will be turning fifty years old next year.  In honor of the half-century anniversary, Eagles will be releasing a released a crystal-clear, 180-gram vinyl edition of the album.

The Eagles formed in Los Angeles in 1971 and helped pioneer the country rock sound that was sweeping across California.  By 1976, they had already released a multitude of country-rock staples including Take It Easy, Witchy Woman, Already Gone, One of These Nights, and Peaceful Easy Feeling, all of which are found on their Greatest Hits record.
