Chris Jericho’s AEW Championship Belt Stolen & Then Found…or Was It?

Chris Jericho’s AEW World Champion belt was stolen this weekend, but whether it’s been found or not is still a great mystery.

TMZ reported on Tuesday that a police report was filed after the wrestler and Fozzy frontman was the victim of theft this past weekend. Jericho even posted a video warning the thief of the consequences.

“Hi, I’m AEW Champion Chris Jericho,” he said in the clip. “And, unfortunately, less than 24 hours after I became the first AEW champion — with blood streaming down my face, after one of the hardest matches I’ve ever had in my life — some lowlife scumbag committed grand larceny and robbed me of the AEW Championship.”

“As a result, I am launching a worldwide investigation using the top private investigators in the world today to find out who committed this crime.”

It was then announced today that the police in Florida recovered the missing belt. The police department had posted on Facebook that it found the belt, but in a bizarre chain of events, the post was then deleted. According to the Tallahassee Democrat, the department said the investigation into the missing belt is still “open and active.”
