On June 24, 1984 Jimmy Page surprised an audience in Dortmund, Germany when he joined Yes for a live performance of the Beatles “I’m Down.”

The collaboration between Page and Yes began following the death of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham and the turbulent release of the Yes album Drama.

Yes bassist Chris Squire and Page came together to create the band XYZ and enlisted Yes drummer Alan White. Although the band did not release any tracks, the epic collaboration that took place 31 years ago on stage was one that is worth remembering.
