William Oliver wanted to try a “trending approach” by setting up a GoFundMe campaign with a goal of $15k. It started with Oliver posting the GoFundMe link on his Facebook to friends and family. Since then, the campaign (Engagement Ring for Alexandra) has become a trending topic on social media. He hasn’t reached the lofty goal yet, but the post has been shared almost 7k times on Facebook and Twitter.
