When a Weezer fan uploaded a video of her singing “Island in the Sun” while undergoing brain surgery, Weezer invited her along to one of their upcoming 2019 shows.

“It just [felt] like a light switch switches in my brain and suddenly I’m tone deaf. I can’t sing. I can’t process the words in time with the music,” Kira said in a statement about her brain tumor.
