Former drummer for David Bowie, Woody Woodmansey, had no idea David Bowie was using drugs during their time together in the ’70s.
Currently the drummer for Spiders From Mars, Woodmansey said he thought Bowie’s strange behavior was only due to ego trips. He added that he believed his late colleagues, Mick Ronson and Trevor Bolder, probably had no idea of Bowie’s addiction problems either.
“To be honest, we were unaware that he was doing it,” the drummer said during an interview with Metro. “When I met up with him in 1980, he said that he tried to keep it off everyone’s minds as such, and I told him he had done a good job because I never knew.”
