KISS legend Ace Frehley admitted that he’s actually been holding a guitar pick the wrong way for years.

As the latest guest on Full Metal Jackie’s weekend radio program, he discussed his latest solo album and what inspires him to write new music. When asked what makes his guitar-playing so unique, Frehley told a story about how John 5 noticed how he holds a guitar pick in an unconventional way. “‘You see the way Ace holds the pick? Nobody holds the pick like that,'” he quoted John 5. “‘That’s how he gets his technique. That’s why nobody can copy him exactly.’ The reason why I hold the pick that way is that I never took a guitar lesson.”
