Queen + Adam Lambert Open the Oscars with “We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions”

Queen and Adam Lambert opened the Oscars last night with a Freddie Mercury tribute.

Performing “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions,” Queen ended their performance with an image of the late Mercury displayed behind them.

Lambert first sang with the legendary band in the 2009 finale of American Idol when he was a contestant. In 2012, the singer officially joined Queen as Queen + Adam Lambert.
