Thousands of Beatles fans celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ famous Abbey Road cover.

The famous London intersection of Abbey and Grove End roads that is featured on the 1969 album cover was crowded with what is estimated to be around 3,500 fans. Some dressed like the Beatles, while a wedding proposal even occurred on the crosswalk.

The Beatles announced an Abbey Road box set that will release on Sept. 27. The set will contain three CDs — a remix of the original LP, two discs of demos and alternate takes, and a Blu-ray. Fans will also receive a 100-page book with a forward written by Paul McCartney.
