Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Tour Will Resume With Gary Rossington Recovering

The show must go on! Despite recent show postponements, Lynyrd Skynyrd will continue their farewell tour.

Due to guitarist Gary Rossington’s heart surgery, the band had been forced to postpone several dates of their Last of the Street Survivors tour. However, the band reassured fans in a statement on their Facebook page that the tour will not be stopped.

“Gary is healing and feeling better,” the statement read on their official Facebook page. “Touring from city to city, night in and out, is difficult on his health, as it is with other members of the band. Recently, Gary has had a few setbacks and his health has not been 100 percent. But as Gary always says, ‘it’s what I know’, and that he loves to play guitar for the three generations of Skynyrd fans that also love the band’s music that he helped create.”

The tour will resume on Aug. 23 in Irvine, California.
