Motorhead’s Original Guitarist Larry Wallis Dies

Larry Wallis has passed away at the age of 70.

Known as Motorhead’s first guitarist, Wallis’ official cause of death is not yet known.

The guitarist formed Motorhead together with Lemmy Kilmister, whom he met when his former band, the Pink Fairies, played on the same bill as Kilmister’s former band, Hawkwind. They found drummer Lucas Fox and signed with United Artists.

Wallis ultimately ended up leaving Motorhead due to creative differences after the band’s second guitarist, “Fast” Eddie Clarke was brought in. He then returned to the Pink Fairies for a few years.

RIP Larry Wallis.
