Dave Grohl told Rock in Rio concertgoers that the Foo Fighters were planning on starting their new album next week.

During the festival in which the Foo Fighters were performing, Grohl confirmed a new album to audience members. “I don’t know when we’ll be back down here again, but we will,” the frontman said. “We go home next week and we start making a new Foo Fighters record.”

Grohl’s album update echoes Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins’ similar updates last month. In an interview, Hawkins had said, “I think we’ll have a new record by next year. We should.”
