AC/DC’s “For Those About To Rock” 40th Anniversary

Nothing makes us more proud to be rock ‘n’ rollers than that epic line “For those about to rock…we salute you,” from AC/DC’s hit song For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) from the album of the same name. This record is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and seems just as popular as ever to its fans of various ages.

For Those About To Rock was AC/DC’s eight studio album and the second to feature lead singer Brian Johnson who made his first appearance with the band on the previous album Back In Black. The album became the hard rock band’s first and only #1 album up until decades later when Black Ice reached the top in 2008. Up until now, For Those About To Rock has sold four million copies in the US.

If you ever catch AC/DC in concert, you’ll get to experience cannons shooting off fire during the performance of the title track. The idea came about when celebratory cannons were going off during the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana on television while the band was rehearsing in Paris.
