After Eagles guitarist/vocalist Glenn Frey passed away in 2016, his son Deacon Frey saved the day when he became a touring member in 2017. The 26-year-old has been adored by fans in following his late father’s footsteps while still creating his own name for himself.

“The only way it felt justified to me was to have family blood in the band – and I have to hand it to Deacon,” Eagles drummer/vocalist Don Henley said about bringing Deacon Frey onboard.

However, Deacon has reportedly developed an illness that will be keeping him from the Eagles’ current Hotel California tour. The first show without him took place last weekend in Savannah, Georgia.

The band posted the following statement on Facebook, “

“Due to illness, Deacon Frey will not be performing with the Eagles during their ‘Hotel California 2022 Tour’ kicking off Saturday, February 19th at the Enmarket Arena in Savannah, Georgia. Deacon’s bandmates will take over his tour duties in his absence. Deacon rejoining the band for performances will be based on his recovery and doctor’s recommendations.”

No other details about Deacon’s sickness have been released.
