Jacoby Shaddix seems to never slow down, especially in his almost 30-year long career with Papa Roach.  Shaddix joins Pinfield on this episode of “New & Approved” to discuss all of Papa Roach’s recent endeavors. 

  Shaddix first chats with Matt about Papa Roach’s recent single “Cut The Line” from their newest record “Ego Trip.”  To celebrate the release of their 11th studio album, Papa Roach held a launch party at Shakey’s Pizza in Santa Monica, which Matt also attended.  Shaddix explains how enjoyable it is to play intimate shows after performing at so many large-scale venues.  

Matt expresses his amazement at Shaddix’s never-ending energy and the passion he has always exuded on stage.  Shaddix says this trait is encoded in him and he feels called to keep the audience fully entertained at all times. 

Despite the hardships of the pandemic, the break in touring did help “Ego Trip” get started.  Shaddix dives even deeper into the record and the inspirations behind it.  “Ego Trip” is out now so be sure to give it a listen!
