Paul McCartney Rocks Down SoFi

Paul McCartney Rocks Down SoFi

Last Friday, 70,000 fans filled up Los Angeles’s SoFi Stadium in anticipation for Sir Paul McCartney to take the stage for another night of his “Got Back” tour.

Around 8PM, McCartney finally took the stage opening up with The Beatles’ Can’t Buy Me Love. The rest of the night saw the icon performing songs from The Beatles, Wings, his solo career, and even a song from his pre-Beatles band The Quarrymen.

McCartney took time to tell stories from his career spanning more than six decades. He honored the late Beatles’ George Harrison and John Lennon, his deceased wife Linda, and his current wife Nancy. During the encore, as McCartney began performing I’ve Got A Feeling from The Beatles’ Get Back album, John Lennon appeared on the big screen. Using a clip from Get Back when The Beatles held their famous rooftop concert, real-life Paul McCartney performed a duet with the Get Back version of John Lennon for an emotional rendition of I’ve Got A Feeling. It was a magical moment for all Beatles fans.

McCartney ended the concert with the ending of the famous Abbey Road medley of Golden Slumbers, Carry That Weight, and The End. Even though the legend is turning eighty next month, he showed no signs of slowing down during his 3-hour, 36-song set. We sure hope he never retires!
