Nita Strauss has proven to be the ultimate badass during her time as Alice Cooper’s touring guitarist. She has fit the shock rocker’s vibe perfectly by joining in on the playfully horrific acts while shredding at the same time.
Sadly for us, Nita announced yesterday that she will officially be exiting the band and embarking upon a new adventure. The beloved guitarist will be so missed by all of us who have enjoyed watching her onstage antics with Alice Cooper for almost a decade.
Nita wrote on Instagram, “After this absolutely incredible run in Europe, it is bittersweet for me to let you guys know that I will not be joining the Alice Cooper band for the upcoming fall tour.” She also announced her solo band would be cancelling their scheduled 2022 festival dates.
Nita joined Alice Cooper in 2014, replacing Alice’s former female guitarist Orianthi, and played along with fellow guitarists Tommy Henriksen and Ryan Roxie. It did not take long for her to become a fan favorite.
We don’t know where Nita is heading next, but we can guarantee it will be epic. She was, however, sure to shut down any false suspicion on Instagram that some fans may have speculated.
“I AM NOT PREGNANT!!! There is no drama whatsoever and my touring year is still VERY full — in fact, I’m on a flight straight into the next adventure as I post this, and I’ll be onstage again much sooner than you think! But that’s news for another day.”
Nita continued, “The past eight years together has been the experience of a lifetime, and I could not be more grateful to Alice and Sheryl Cooper, Shep Gordon, the amazing band, crew and fans for welcoming me to all of your nightmare. I don’t know what the future will hold after this, but I am forever thankful.”
Good luck Nita!
