When Cass Elliot, singer in The Mamas & The Papas, died in 1974 from heart failure you would think she would choose to haunt the London flat she was staying in when she left this world. In fact, Who drummer Keith Moon eerily died four years later in the exact same room.

However, sightings of Mama Cass’s ghost have been reported halfway around the world from from where she passed. Comedian Dan Akyroyd not only experienced the paranormal in his Ghostbusters work, but also in his old Hollywood home that was previously owned by Cass.

Akyroyd once stated in a 2003 interview, “A ghost certainly haunts my house.  It once even crawled into bed with me.  I rolled over and just nuzzled up to whatever it was and went back to sleep.  The ghost also turns on the Stairmaster and moves jewelry across the dresser.  I’m sure it’s Mama Cass because you get the feeling it’s a big ghost.”

While it might seem just like speculation, actress Beverly D’Angelo bought the house in 2007 and also claimed to have experienced similar run-ins with Mama Cass.

Whether or not Mama Cass still roams this Earth, let’s remember that incredible voice with this performance of Make Your Own Kind of Music:
