Elton John Plays Final U.S. Shows At Dodger Stadium

This past week, Sir Elton John bid farewell to America when he performed three concerts at Los Angeles’s Dodger Stadium.

“Tonight is a very special night, a very emotional night for me,” the 75-year-old bedazzled piano man told the audience. “It’s been a long journey.”

Last night’s show at Dodger Stadium was especially emotional as it closed out the American portion of his Farewell Tour. After 5 decades of performing for the world, John is finally retiring to spend more time with his family.

Guests including Kiki Dee, Brandi Carlile, and Dua Lipa joined John throughout the night to perform some of his most legendary tunes. Tiny Dancer, Rocket Man, Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, Crocodile Rock, and Saturday Night’s Alright were just some of the songs John stormed through from his massive catalog of hits.

John closed the show by bringing his own family on stage to reveal the reason for his retirement, thanking his fans, band, and crew for an amazing career, and by playing a sentimental rendition of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Photos and videos of his early performance days flashed amongst the giant screens during the finale.

It’s no surprise that Elton John will be so missed by fans, but we are so happy for the years of music he has given us.

John will be finishing up his Farewell Tour next year in Australia, New Zealand, and Europe.
