Musical talent seems to be a subjective opinion, but when Rolling Stone announces their infamous “top” lists, many tend to be persuaded by the powerful music magazine. Such is case this week as Rolling Stone just released a list of the “200 Greatest Singers of All Time.”

The list touches every genre from modern pop, classic rock, soul, country, and everything in between. As expected, the ranking has caused quite a controversy amongst passionate music heads who disagree. In fact, there has been quite a stir over the exclusion of Celine Dion who many feel was wronged by the magazine.

According to Rolling Stone, the top ten singers of all time are:

  1. Aretha Franklin
  2. Whitney Houston
  3. Sam Cooke
  4. Billie Holiday
  5. Mariah Carey
  6. Ray Charles
  7. Stevie Wonder
  8. Beyoncé
  9. Otis Redding
  10. Al Green
