Last night, the 95th Academy Awards took place honoring the best cast and crew of the past year’s greatest films.

Along with honoring the new Oscar winners, the Academy also payed tribute to those lost in the past year. To commemorate those in the film business who have recently passed away, rock singer Lenny Kravitz performed a beautiful rendition of his song Calling All Angels from his 2004 album Baptism. Kravitz played the piano and sang his heart out while photos of Olivia Newton-John, Kirstie Alley, Raquel Welch, John Caan, and others who recently passed in the film business were displayed on a large screen. Kravitz was introduced by John Travolta who was trying to hold back tears as he mentioned his friend and co-star Olivia Newton-John’s famous lyrics of Hopelessly Devoted To You. It was difficult not to shed tears.
