Happy National Doughnut Day!

Happy National Doughnut Day!

It’s National Doughnut Day and in celebration, several of your favorite doughnut shops are serving up America’s favorite breakfast treat for free!

During World War I, women volunteers known as ‘Dough Girls’ began making doughnuts to boost soldier morale for those serving overseas. In 1938, the Chicago branch of the Salvation Army launched National Doughnut Day to raise awareness and funds while celebrating the contribution by women to the war effort. Since then, June 5th has been a cherished day celebrated with some of the most favorite doughnut vendors offering up free doughnuts.

Here’s a few vendors celebrating around Los Angeles:

Dunkin’ Donuts is offering customers a free doughnut of their choice with the purchase of any beverage while supplies last.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is giving customers a free doughnut of their choice.

Plan Check is offering $2 doughnuts at all three restaurant locations.
