Woodstock 50 has been canceled after months of difficulties.
Co-founder Michael Lang released a statement saying, “We are saddened that a series of unforeseen setbacks has made it impossible to put on the festival we imagined with the great line-up we had booked and the social engagement we were anticipating.”
News had just been reported this week that the festival had found a new location at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland and that the festival was planning on giving out tens of thousands of free tickets. However, the festival had been facing problems for months, including permit issues, financial backers withdrawing, and artists quitting the line-up.
